Precincts Home Page PRECINCT INFORMATION Search

DESIGN OVERVIEW FOR TCDP PRECINCT-INFORMATION PAGES

An integrated set of web pages to support precinct-level Democratic activities is being developed by Hunter Ellinger in cooperation with the TCDP Issues & Activities Committee.  In addition to the pages linked to from its home page, the precinct site includes a precinct-chair page to post precinct-activities announcements or to specify a link to an independent web site for the precinct.  It also provides a link to listings of voter election participation for any street in the precinct.

Current capabilities for precinct lookup:
·       By number, facility name or street, or first or last name of Democratic precinct chair
·        By voter address (enter zip code and get a list of all streets in it, then click on a street to get precinct or a list of addresses on that street in each precinct)
·       If several matches to lookup, all are displayed and can be selected among

Current capabilities for individual-precinct information:
·       Each precinct has a home page showing its information
·       Name, address, and map to polling place provided
·       Democratic precinct chair listed (if filled), with form to send message to him/her
·       Precinct-activities announcements can be posted, with precinct-chair approval
·       If provided by precinct chair, link to precinct-specific web site will be displayed
·       Shows district-based officials for the precinct (e.g., state reps, AISD school board)
·       Voter registration information: distribution of ages and housing types, new voters
·       2004 election summary: turnout, Kerry/Bush percentages, straight-party voting
·       Full precinct results for all county-run elections from November 2002 to present
·       Production of address lists for any street in the precinct, based on voting history

Current capabilities for multiple-precinct comparisons
·       Facility name and addresses, Democratic precinct chairs
·       Voter-registration information (age groups, housing type, new voters)
·       Summary of 2004 election results, including straight-party and primary totals

·       Any election contest in county-run election in November 2002 or later

·       Graphic indicators of each precinct's 2004 turnout and Dem-GOP balance
·       Limitation of precinct lists to particular electoral districts, with subtotals

Current list of planned additional capabilities:
·       Access to precinct home pages by using the precinct number as the page name
·       Upgrade accessibility support, especially alt tags to assist low-vision users
·       Investigate feasibility of systematic support of Spanish
·       Support precincts in neighboring counties, especially Williamson
·       Provide support for enrollment and management of precinct workers and projects
·       Enable messages from precinct chairs to activists listed for their precinct
·       Support subdivision of precincts for block-captain assignment
·       Adapt and expand to also support Democratic clubs
